Course Creation

Here are several tutorial videos, sorted by topic, to help you with course creation in your Agent Management Portal. Each video includes a written, step-by-step guide as well. You can view it under each video.

Step-by-step

How to Create a Course

To create your own, custom online training course in your AMP, follow these steps.

  1. Login to your AMP and toggle to either Administrator view or Instructor view
  2. Click on Courses in the left navigation menu
  3. Click on the Add course button in the upper right corner
  4. Now you are ready to start adding information about your course. Add a title for your course by clicking on the text that says “New course” at the top.
    1. Click on the gear icon at the top right of the column on the left – these are your Course options. A pop up on the right of your screen will allow you to add more details about your new course. There are 4 tabs for you to edit: Course details, Availability, Rules and paths, and Certificate.
      • Course details: set the course code, category, price, hide from course catalog, and intro video.
        • Course code – this can be helpful in sorting your courses and creating a hierarchy for your Learners. More on this later in our training.
        • Category – choose from our preset categories to sort your courses when Learners are enrolled in them. More on this later in our training.
        • Price – Please reach out to your AMP rep if you have interest in selling your courses, as this is an advanced feature and requires an advanced setup.
        • Hide course from catalog – if you toggle this, unless you provide access to this course to a Learner through a Group, Learners will not be able to see the course or request to enroll in it when they login to your training platform. More on this later in our training.
        • Intro video – provides an introduction to this course and what Learners can expect to learn.
      • Availability: access options and time options
        • Access options: capacity, level, make course active
          1. Capacity – When the maximum capacity of enrolled users to this course is reached, then the course will be automatically hidden from the course catalog. No other limitations are placed on user enrolment to the course.
          2. Level – The end-user needs to reach that level in order to be able to get this course.
          3. Make course active – toggle this to make your course active.
        • Time options: duration or time limit
          1. Duration – set a start date, start time, and end date, end time
          2. Time limit – set a number of days that a Learner would have access to complete this course
          3. You can also toggle an option to retain access for users who have completed the course
      • Rules and paths: units ordering, course completion rules, score calculator, and learning path
        • Units ordering – choose to allow your units to be taken in sequential order or in any order
        • Course completion rules – choose whether every unit in your course must be completed for the Learner to move on, or whether they only need to complete a percentage of the course
        • Score calculator – choose to calculate a Learner’s score based on all tests and assignments or tests only
        • Learning path – this is where you can set up course prerequisites. More on this later in our training.
      • Certificate – choose what style of certificate you would like to use for any Learners who complete this course. More on this later in our training.

Course thumbnail – Create a branded thumbnail in Canva (630px x 420px) and save to your computer as a PNG. When you create a course, you’ll see an orange box in the top right corner. When you hover over it, you’ll see a blue circle with a cloud and an up arrow. Click on the circle. Upload the image from your computer. Click on the “Save Changes.”
