Think of playlists like your personal content libraries. When you group videos by category—say, first-time homebuyer tips, behind-the-scenes listing tours, or real estate market updates—you’re telling YouTube (and your viewers) exactly what kind of value your channel provides.

Why Playlists Matter for Real Estate Agents

YouTube’s algorithm loves when viewers stick around—and playlists keep them watching longer by auto-playing your next relevant video. More watch time = better algorithm ranking. Simple as that.

But it’s not just about binge-watching. Playlists also:

  • Improve SEO by telling YouTube what your videos are about

  • Increase visibility by showing up in search results on both YouTube and Google

  • Enhance user experience by organizing your content in a way that’s easy to navigate

How to Use Playlists Strategically

Here’s my go-to advice:
If you have five or more videos around a similar topic, group them into a playlist. Name the playlist using a long-tail keyword phrase that someone would actually search (like “How to Buy a House in Today’s Market” or “Best Realtor Tips for Listing Success”).

Make sure the titles and descriptions of your playlists are also keyword-rich. This tells the algorithm you’re serious about your content—and positions you as the authority in your niche.

Bonus Tip: Think Beyond the Algorithm

This isn’t just about SEO. When someone finds a playlist full of useful content, they trust you faster. That builds relationships and generates leads. When they watch three, five, or even ten of your videos in a row, they’re more likely to reach out when they’re ready to make a move.
