If you’re not seeing engagement on your social media posts, you might be overlooking a surprisingly powerful factor: timing. According to Sprout Social’s recent analysis of over 2.5 billion engagements, when you post can be just as important as what you post.
In 2025, posting at the right time is more important than ever—especially if you’re trying to get your content seen, liked, and shared. Let’s break it down by platform so you can make smarter, data-informed decisions.

The Best Times to Post by Platform
📅 Instagram & TikTok:
Best engagement window: 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM, Monday through Thursday
Why? These platforms thrive when users are taking mid-morning breaks. People are in scroll mode but not quite distracted yet.
📅 Facebook:
Best engagement window: Around midday, especially 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
People check Facebook on lunch breaks or while multitasking at their desks. This sweet spot is perfect for catching eyes during downtime.
📅 LinkedIn:
Best engagement window: 7:00 AM – 9:00 AM, Monday to Thursday
LinkedIn audiences are typically early risers checking in before work begins. If you’re posting to a professional audience, timing matters even more.
📅 Pinterest:
Best engagement window: Lunchtime hours, typically around 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
Pinterest traffic peaks when people are dreaming, planning, or seeking inspiration mid-day.
Why Wednesdays Win
Across platforms, mid-morning on Wednesdays often performs best. Why? People are past the Monday chaos, into their weekly groove, and not yet mentally checking out like they tend to do on Fridays.
If you have one big piece of content to share each week—make Wednesday your go-to launch day.
Tweak by Platform, But Stay Consistent
Here’s what I recommend:
Batch your content ahead of time and use a scheduler (like Later, Metricool, or Buffer) to post during those high-engagement windows.
Test and learn – your audience might have its own patterns. Use insights from each platform to monitor what works best.
Avoid Friday afternoons and weekends unless your content is evergreen and lifestyle-focused.
Pro Tip: Combine Timing with Strong Content
Timing alone won’t save a weak post. But combining strong messaging with optimal timing can supercharge your engagement. Always lead with value and follow up with consistency.
