Be where the people are

As Realtors, we want to be where the people are. And right now, more than ever, that’s on social media. Facebook specifically has seen a huge jump in traffic since the pandemic hit us hard in 2020. This is why it is important to understand how to create and optimize your Facebook page (both personal and business) as a Realtor.

Facebook for Realtors: your PERSONAL page

Even though this is your “personal” Facebook page, Realtors must also use it for business. Yes, there should be personal posts. This is important to maintain your value to the Facebook algorithm. Not many people will “like” your business-related posts, so we encourage a 4:1 ratio. Four personal posts, and then one business post. Through your personal page, you can link your business page, which we will talk about next.

Facebook for Realtors: your BUSINESS page

Your Facebook business page has three purposes. 1. It’s like a static website about your business. You want this page to look nice and represent your success and your brand. People aren’t using Google to find people anymore — they are using Facebook. 2. Use it to boost a Facebook post. Pay to boost a post to a group of people that you don’t know. 3. Use it for retargeting Facebook ads. You can retarget a Facebook ad at people who you do already know. We use this one a lot — in fact, we have a whole course built around it.

Why is Facebook retargeting so powerful?

You can use it to target your sphere of influence (SOI) members on Facebook. You simply upload any list of contacts, and Facebook will target those people with your ad. It’s also a great way to use your list from your geographical farm! It is very inexpensive, and a great way for Realtors to use their Facebook page.
