Content is more important than ever; learn how to be more viable online with keywords for real estate agents.
Today we are going to talk about keywords for real estate agents. It’s important to know how the use of keywords can effect your business as a Realtor!
Whether you realize it or not, you are using keywords all the time. Keywords are used a lot in social media (think hashtags), as well as every time you do a Google search (or any other search engine). We’ll use Google as a prime example in this post.
If you use keywords correctly, you will have a greater chance of showing up when someone is browsing for a real estate agent online. Think about it — when you search for something online, what words do you use? These are keywords, and search engines like Google collect that data from the terms that are highly searched for and pair them with websites and blogs that contain those terms. I.e., you want to use those highly searched terms (aka keywords) in order to be ranked highly in Google’s search engine. This is what we are exploring today.

Google Keyword Planner
One popular tool is the Google Keyword Planner. Though this tool is free, you may be required to provide payment information when you create your account. This is because you can also use this tool to run Google Ads. That said, you may not want to enter payment information. And, the Google Keyword Planner may be too robust for your needs in any case. Unless you already have a Google Ads account, you can just use the Google search bar for a similar result.
Use the Google search bar
Go to google.com. Simply start typing in what you would search for if you were looking for your business. As you type, Google will provide you with suggestions dropping down from the search bar. Google is telling you these are the most commonly searched for phrases related to the words you are typing in. You will want to choose the “long tail” result — the suggestion by Google that is the longest. Because this longer phrase will be more specific, it will also be the keyword phrase with the least amount of competition.
This is a very quick and simple way to narrow down the keywords you should be using for your website, your Facebook page, or your blog.
