Real estate speaker Brian Icenhower recently headlined an annual conference and awards ceremony for Boise brokerage, Homes of Idaho. Brian never ceases to provide the motivation and extra push that agents need to get to work, right now.

The timing was right. January is a hard month for most real estate agents. Some are still “checked out” and on vacation, and some are feeling the January blues and post-holiday exhaustion is setting in. A month meant for New Years resolutions to kick off usually starts off strong and ends in disappointment.
For the real estate industry, this is a down time. The market is slow, and agents are looking for anything that will “fix” their business and provide them with a year of growth. Combine that with a time of rising interest rates and inflation, as well as housing prices continuing to rise due to low housing supply, and many Realtors feel like giving up.
Brian’s message to agents in Boise? Get to work.
Time to get to work
Real estate speaker Brian Icenhower’s central message in Boise was that it is time to get to work.
“We are here in January,” Brian tells David Paul for The Voice of Boise. “There are a lot of people in real estate who are still asleep.”
Brian continues, “Getting back into business after the holidays is a big deal. And right now, things are especially slow. You can’t wait for the real estate industry or the interest rates to improve. You have to get back to work and roll up your sleeves.“

The topic of mindset is crucial throughout the year, but especially during the slow season. “We need to address mindset. We need to talk about how agents are going to get back into business. Get your feet out of bed. Then, feet on the floor, feet into shoes, and back to work. Get those sleeves rolled up.”
